Study Guidance

Dear visitor

In connection with the recent University reorganization, the Department changed its name from Department of Mathematical Sciences to Department of Mathematics.

Thus this URL (imf.au.dk) no longer fits our name (it matched the former name in Danish). All our pages and activities will be continued on other sites. Please update your bookmarks.

The University has decided that instead of just a single site per department, each department will now have at least three sites (separated into different audiences). In the future Department of Mathematics can be followed via:

The Department's Academic Guidance

During the 4th quarter the department arranges a meeting for the first-year students of Mathematics with information about special areas of study and the choice of additional qualification package.

At the end of each semester (December and May) the academic groupings within the Department of Mathematical Sciences organise orientation meetings about the Bachelor’s year and the Master’s degree programme programme. There will be presentations of the advanced studies courses in the following 6 month.

Students who take advanced studies courses are offered individual informal talks each semester. The moments depend on the special area of study (in ‘Mathematics’ in December and May).

Before you can complete your Bachelor’s degree programme you must obtain approval of your Bachelor contract and before you can complete your Master’s degree programme you have to obtain approval of your Masters studies. Forms can be downloaded from the pages of the faculty of sciences: Blanketter (Danish only
